Word Shredders

A Young Writer’s Summer Studio

Have you ever wanted to make your writing dangerously good? If so, you’ve come to the “write” place! This writer’s summer studio will help you uncover the secrets to powerful writing.

Students will:
• form a mini-book club to analyze elements of strong writing 
• participate in engaging, quick write activities that expose them to different genres and help alleviate writer’s block 
• take an individual writing piece of their choice through the writing process 
• learn how to comment on other writer’s work in a critique group format 
•publish and share their work in the Word Shredder’s Literary Magazine 
• Meet/interact with an award-winning, children's author, Stacia Deutch (http://www.staciadeutsch.com/) the last day of class!

Who: 6-8^th grade writers

When: M-TH, 6/25-6/28 @ 2-4pm

M, T, TH, F, 7/2-7/6  (no class on 7/4) @ 2-4pm
