Stowaway, book review by Mallory, 6th grader


Stowaway
by Karen Hesse. Here are some reasons why I liked it:
  1. It is true historical fiction, which I love.
  2. It shows the life of a young boy who is facing hardships in his life.
  3. It is full of humor and adventure.
  4. It demonstrates friendship between two unlike people.
  5. It shows a interesting adventure facing disease, natives, and huge hurricanes.

    Mallory, it sounds like an amazing story--always true of Karen Hesse! I especially like the "friendship between two unlikely people." I think friendship stories like that make for the best reads.
